Haunting Season: Casting
Auditions now closed for the season! Thanks to all of our amazing applicants.
Our cast is the core of our Haunting Season & Frightfest experiences. Our characters create memories to last a lifetime, they delight and terrify our guests.
We love that we are home to many of our youth’s first ever jobs. From the east end of Ottawa all the way to Carleton Place, our cast travels far and wide to be part of the safe and fun space we’ve created here at Saunders Farm.
We welcome those with and without acting experience to join us at our auditions. There are so many roles to fill, especially as we begin to grow, there might just be the perfect role for you!
We care deeply about our cast and strive on being a home away from home, as well as a safe and supportive space for our staff to learn more about themselves and their skills. We provide an opportunity for staff to develop and own their craft, as they grow into leaders in the acting community and beyond.

Haunting Season Schedule
Role Expectations & Skills
Step 1: Apply & sign up for an audition
To apply, click on the button to the right of the screen. This is where you can tell us a bit about your experience, who you are and sign up for an audition date and time. Please ensure you disclose your availability in your application, this helps us ensure your schedule fits into the role we select for you if selected.
Step 2: Join us for an audition!
Auditions at Saunders Farm are group-style and approximately 30 minutes long. Our Performance Managers will take you through a variety of ice breakers, improvisation activities and acting scenarios. It is important that you bring your best and most outgoing self! Make sure to bring a water bottle, a mask, comfortable athletic wear and shoes (you may do some activities on the ground!), a headshot and a positive attitude!
Step 3: Invitation to Scream Training
After your audition, within 48 hours you will hear from our Casting Director if you have been selected to join us at Scream Training, our call back auditions. Scream Training is a 2 hour, intensive acting session where both returning cast members and new candidates are tested on their acting and improvisational skills. Please bring a water bottle, snacks, a mask, comfortable athletic wear and shoes and your best self. An invitation to Scream Training does not guarantee new or returning staff a role in our cast.
Step 4: Invitation to Haunting Season, your Fright Site & Training Dates
Within 48 hours of Scream Training, you will receive your invitation to join our cast as well as a confirmation of which Fright Site cast you will be joining. This includes The Coven, Shambles, Sawmill, Hayride or Street Theatre – day OR night cast. You will be invited to your mandatory Fright Site Training, and after this – your role for the season.
***Please note that roles and fright sites may be subject to change throughout the season.
